Namaste!
My name is Susan Graham Guddat.  When I participated in my first Yoga class 14 years ago I knew I would teach Yoga one day.  Since that day I have considered myself "in training" and continue to expand my knowledge and experience by learning from a variety of Yoga teachers and practitioners within the healing arts (Ester Meyers, Shiva Rea, Anodea Judith, Paul Grilley - just to name a few!).  I obtained my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate in 2000, which was done privately through one of my very experienced Yoga teachers.  I bring a lifetime of body-oriented experiences to my Yoga classes including a career in Figure Skating and an extensive background in Dance.

For the past 9 years I have been teaching Yoga consistently, developing and facilitating a variety of workshops and clinics based on the principles of Yoga.  Yogalates, Yoga for your Feet and Yoga workshops for athletes are just a few.  I have been trained and certified in Thai Yoga Massage, Reiki, Angelic Reiki and Quantum-Touch and am able to provide these services to you.  In 2007 I created and developed the first 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification Course available in York Region!

I look forward to meeting you and your needs and thank you for the opportunity to share my experiences with you in a healthy, positive, prosperous, abundant energy exchange!

Hello! My Name is Ema Lyons and I have been practicing Yoga since 2004. The first yoga class I ever took was with Sue and the minute she started the class it was something I knew I would do for the rest of my life. I attended 10 classes in the first 3 weeks I ever practiced. I was a little sore but had never felt better. I have been practicing all types of yoga intensively ever since including Kundalini, Ashtanga, and Tantric Yoga. I started doing yoga as a gym alternative looking to shed those few extra pounds and tone up a bit and ended up finding a way of being that has allowed me to quiet my mind and focus my energy. I will be teaching various classes while completing my teacher training certification with Sue this fall. I look forward to seeing you at the studio!!

Hello, my name is Melanie Checkeris.  I’ve been practicing Hatha Yoga since 2001.  Very quickly I experienced the benefits of learning how to breathe, to calm the mind and listen to my body as I held each pose or asana. Yoga has become an integral part of my life. This practice led me to obtaining my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from the very experienced Susan Graham Guddat in June 2007.
My educational background/experience includes an Honours Bachelor Degree in Physical Education and Health Promotion (1991), a Bachelor Degree in Education (1996) and I held a certificate as a Professional Fitness and Lifestyle Consultant by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology for 7 years (1993-2000). During the day you can find me at the Ontario Science Centre where I am the Manager of School Programs.

I believe, and have experienced personally, that practicing Yoga does have significant long term health benefits both physically and mentally. Hatha Yoga, in particular, is a very gentle and powerful way to learn poses which strengthen and stretch our joints and muscles, improve the function of bodily systems, expand the breath and increase our ability to focus on the moment. The mindfulness needed for Yoga has an effect that can be taken into all parts of our lives.

I look forward to teaching you, learning from you and sharing in the positive benefits Yoga has to offer all of us and the people we interact with daily.

Thank-you and Namaste!
